Good Day: I have an unusual problem in my field testing...I have a Dev Alpha B... I am writing a floating point value into a textArea but
when I use %8.4f, a number like 745.1234 will turn blue and ,if you tap it, attempts to dial... since I am outputting numbers to a display, this is not a good thing.... Is there a way to turn off this behaviour of a textarea... I have used the obvious fix ..using %8.3f but a user could ,inadvertently, add a letter to the number, and now it goes blue, again.. I guess I am "blue" over this too... any suggestions.. rich

You can override this behaviour using the ActiveTextHandler,

do you know, offhand, what the c++ coding line would be to call this qt routine? Should this be tied into a signal/slot (i suspect so).... ie connect when the event occurs, then abort();?????? thanks for the quick reply...
