Automated Functional Testing

Hi,

I'm new to BlackBerry platform.

I am exploring ways to automate functional testing of different apps on blackberry platform.

Can you please help me understand the support given by BlackBerry platform for automated testing?

Thanks,

Pankti

Re: Automated Functional Testing

You can use the BlackBerry simulator controller to issue commands to a BlackBerry smartphone simulator from a command line.  To read more about it start the simulator and click on the Help menu then choose Controller Command Help.

Re: Automated Functional Testing

Hi Mark,

Thanks for sharing the information.

I tried fledge controller way. I was able to automate events on app.

But I didn't find any commands/ways to verify output on screen.

I'm not sure how to verify output and content on screen. Can you please help?

Thanks,

Pankti

Re: Automated Functional Testing

We don't provide any tools to verify contents on screen.

You could use the command controller to take a screenshot of what the simulator is displaying.  These could be scanned by a person for verification or you could use a third party tool to see if it matches a baseline image.
