Debug Token Request deletes contents of a folder if a folder name is specified instead of a BAR file name

by BlackBerry Development Advisor on ‎04-20-2011 11:55 AM - edited on ‎06-01-2011 01:21 PM by Retired (2,129 Views)

This article applies to the following:

  • BlackBerry® Tablet OS SDK 1.0.1
  • BlackBerry® WebWorks™ SDK for the BlackBerry Tablet OS 2.0

When requesting a debug token from the command line using blackberry-debugtokenrequest you must specify a parameter that indicates the filename that ends in .bar for your debug token.  If this file exists, blackberry-debugtokenreques will delete it prior to creating the new debug token.  You must avoid specifying a directory without a filename because the directory would be deleted when this command is run.

Good example:

blackberry-debugtokenrequest -cskpass (pass) -keystore myKey.p12 -storepass (pass) -deviceId 0x500C95D8 "c:\myfolder\dt.bar"

This will create a debug token in c:\myfolder.

Bad example:

blackberry-debugtokenrequest -cskpass (pass) -keystore myKey.p12 -storepass (pass) -deviceId 0x500C95D8 "c:\myfolder"

This will cause c:\myfolder to be deleted.
