MY dev alpha wont recognize any sim cards i tried to use. Yes i did follow correct steps how to install it properly. Has any one else had an issue with this? i am testing 3 apps for the platform and unfortunately i can't be home all day to use wifi that why I bought the sim card from ATT.

We've seen cases where you may have to perform a reset on the BlackBerry Dev Alpha (hold down power + volume keys) a few times for it to pick up the sim card. Give that a try.

And just to confirm, you are using OS version 10.0.9?

correct ! what annoys me is that the dev team send me an email that the original sim that came with the phone in orlando had expired and that i could purchase a new one from att which i did by signing a 2 year contract.. due to my schedule i need wireless to test and deploy my apps...

So does anything happen once the SIM card is inserted? Does it still show that no sim card is present? Or does that icon disappear but it's unable to use the cellular connection?

I have the same problem.. I tried several times to insert it always after powering off the device... no luck...
Today I tried to remove it and insert it will trunned on... The menu (UP slide down status menu) blinks to a diferent message, but its fast... it said somthing about "cellular" but I couln't see the full text, I'll keeo trying.
In any case it always ends up with the "SIM" not detected!
