I want to change my computer - Code signing

[ Edited ]

Actually, I already changed my computer.

I registered code signing on the old computer.

But a few days later It was out of order, so I bought a new computer.

I want to register code signing on the new computer.

I asked to dev support.

But they never answered. only message automatically generated.

What should I do?

I also develop mobile apps on the other platforms.

RIM's support is the worst!!!

And don't ask me weather I sent an email and received automatically generated message.

I already sent and received it. The case number is INC000022025510.

I've got the message on 21 Dec.

But there is still no answer about it.

So I sent an email again today.

And I've got the automatically generated message again.

Is there any human being in RIM?

Oh.. there should be... because the message said to me that...

"Please note that the Application Development Support team will not be responding to email during the annual RIM holiday break.  We are out of the office starting Saturday, December 25th, returning Monday, January 3rd and will respond to all messages upon our return."

OK. I want to ask one more thing.

Do they work?

The signing key is set to one PC only.

You just need to purchase another.

Do you agree with your words?

I already purchased it.

But I used it a few days.

I need to change my computer.

So... should I purchase the signing key again?

wow

If I have to do so, I'll.

But why nobody from RIM would answer me?

Yea, I do agree with my words.

An extra signing key will only cost you $20US.

$2, $20, or $200.

The price is not important. Why should I pay more?

I'm not trying to add a development account.

I just changed my computer.

I think RIM should not earn money like this.

WOW.

Yea, wow.

It's clearly stated that the signing keys work on one computer, and can't be transferred.

You agreed to that upon purchase.

If the price is not important, why do you think RIM should not "earn money like this"?

Re: I want to change my computer - Code signing

How about this post? http://www.kurlu.com/blog/2010/06/moving-blackberry-code-signing-keys-between-computers/

I haven't tried it myself, but if the post is true then you can add the keys to another PC.

I would like to do this myself  but mostly based on principal don't want to pay an extra $20 for each PC that I do development on (I develop on 3 but only sign on one).

Has anyone tried this?

Re: I want to change my computer - Code signing

Code signing keys can only be used on one PC at a time.  If you need to sign from multiple PCs, you'll need to purchase multiple keys.

You can move your keys from one PC to another.  devsupport@rim.com can issue a replacement set of keys that you can install on another PC.

Re: I want to change my computer - Code signing

Hi,

I have done this with jde(4.7 and below) and signaturetool.

copy the sigtool.db  and sigtool.csk from your current pc's jde/bin folder to your new pc's jde/bin folder.
