Inconsistency in dependencies between .alx files and modules

by Retired on ‎04-21-2010 03:07 PM (2,073 Views)

Summary

This article applies to the following:

  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 5.x
  • BlackBerry smartphones

Details

Before BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 5.0, you could specify a dependency module as a nested application tag during the deployment of your application, as described in An .alx file.

Starting in BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0, if you try to deploy an application over the wireless network using the BlackBerry Enterprise Server with a nested application dependency, the following error message occurs:

Inconsistency in dependencies between alx files and modules - application

For example, Application_B is a child of Application_A, but module Application_A in parent application Application_A is dependent on module Application_B in child application Application_B.To avoid this circular dependency issue, modify your existing .alx file, remove the nested application tag, and include these module dependencies in the fileset tag as part of the main application.
