Sign a .cod file

This article applies to the following:

  • BlackBerry® Java® Development Environment (BlackBerry JDE)
  • BlackBerry® JDE Plug-in for Eclipse®


A .cod file can be signed using one of the four methods. Before using these methods, verify that a set of BlackBerry JDE signature keys has been installed on the corresponding workstation. The four methods are

Method 1 - Using the .cod file

  1. Double-click the .cod file.
  2. A dialog box will be prompted that displays the required signature keys.
  3. Click the Request button.

Method 2 - Using the BlackBerry JDE

  1. Within the BlackBerry JDE, select the Build menu.
  2. Click the menu item Request Signatures.

Method 3 - Using the BlackBerry JDE Plug-in for Eclipse

  1. In Eclipse®, select the BlackBerry menu.
  2. Click the menu item Request Signatures.
