BlackBerry® Java® Development Environment (JDE) 4.3.0
The format in which signature keys are stored on your computer has changed with the SignatureTool included with BlackBerry JDE 4.3.0 and BlackBerry JDE Component Package 4.3.0. When you first use the BlackBerry JDE 4.3.0 Signature Tool with signature keys that have already been installed on your computer (from an earlier version of BlackBerry JDE), you will receive the following prompt:
Please enter your private key password to update, and re-encrypt your private key information file.
This may cause decryption errors if you install signature keys using the BlackBerry JDE 4.3.0 Signature Tool and attempt to sign with earlier versions of the SignatureTool (prior to BlackBerry JDE 4.3.0). If you do so, earlier versions of the Signature Tool will fail to decrypt the private key and you will see the following error:
The signature on the code signing request didn't verify. The likely cause of this problem is entering an incorrect password to decrypt your private key.
Note: If you have already installed signature keys using a version of BlackBerry JDE prior to 4.3.0, the keys will continue to work in both BlackBerry JDE versions after the upgrade.
To workaround the decryption problem, copy the SignatureTool.jar file from the bin directory in the BlackBerry JDE 4.3.0 or BlackBerry JDE Component Package 4.3.0 installation directory to the bin directory of the earlier version of BlackBerry JDE/BlackBerry JDE Component Package of the BlackBerry JDE.
