Signing Servers - Scheduled Downtime for Upgrades

On Friday November 5, 2010 the RIM Signing Servers were unavailable from approximately 9:30 AM EDT to 3:30 PM EDT, and we are aware that as a result of this existing developers were not able to sign their applications, and new developers were not able to receive signing keys.

The signing servers  are now back online, however you may still experience intermittent unavailability.  To help improve reliability, RIM is planning a hardware update of the signing servers, which will be implemented on Monday, November 8th at 7 PM EST. This update is expected to take approximately 6hrs and the signing servers will be offline during this time.  Please plan any builds around this update window. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience in this matter.

Re: Signing Servers - Scheduled Downtime for Upgrades

It seems like the signing server have been *VERY* slow ever since the update.

A simple and small HelloWorld app is taking me 5-10 *minutes* to sign. Smiley Sad

Re: Signing Servers - Scheduled Downtime for Upgrades

Not only are they very slow, they are actually DOWN half the time, like for example right now Smiley Sad I don't get a response from the server.

This is really becoming a serious issue and is starting to affect our business. E.g. right now I would need to test my application on a device, to test an urgent fix for a customer, but I can't since these signing servers are down again, already since about an hour. I am blocked!

RIM, please finally fix this single point of failure!!!
