"Unable to register client ',' (ID:) because they have exhausted their registration attempts"

This article applies to the following:

  • BlackBerry® Java® Development Environment (BlackBerry JDE)
  • BlackBerry® Java® Plug-in for Eclipse®



You can only register a set of code signing keys once. Once you have installed and registered one set of .csi files on a computer, you cannot register the keys on another computer. If you want to perform code signing on multiple computers, you must register for multiple sets of code signing keys from Research In Motion.


If you need to re-install your .csi files, please request a new set of BlackBerry Smartphone Code Signing keys using the web form linked to on this page:  http://www.blackberry.com/go/codesigning


Prior to installing new signature keys first delete all present CSI files as well as the sigtool.* (DB, CSK, SET) files that may reside in the sub-directories of the development environment to which you are installing.
