Out of the blue in the middle of the day yesterady, I cannot deploy any apps to my Z30.
The message (tried both Momentics and command line blackberry-deploy) simply says "User authentication failed".
Note that this is different from the message you get when you specify the wrong password, which is "Error: Authentication failed. There have been 1 of 5 failed attempts", so I know that my password is correct.
I am able to successfully SSH to the device after using the blackberry-connect command, but cannot upload a debug token or deploy any apps.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Can you post the full output you see? Is there any proxy, VPN and/or firewall that could be attempting to intercept the connection?

That would do it. You have to complete that setup before the device is fully functional over USB. Manually running sys.firstlaunch reset that flag.
