302 redirect not working?

Hi, I have a site that does a 302 redirect (eg, if the user hits example.com, it redirects to m.example.com). On 3 blackberrys I tried, it works fine. On another, it displays a status page saying "302 Found. The document has been moved here". The user has to click the link "here" to continue. I'm not sure why this blackberry is doing it and the others aren't, the only difference I could find was that it was using AT&T's Media Net browser. But it also doesn't use the regular Internet Browser even after I change it in the settings.

I've searched these forums, can't find any clues...help?

Re: 302 redirect not working?

What BlackBerry Smartphone model and BlackBerry handheld software version are you testing on?  You can find this under Options, About on the BlackBerry Smartphone.

It sounds like the user is using the carrier's WAP browser, which is not supporting the redirection.  This should work if they use the BlackBerry Browser or Internet Browser.  You can change the default browser under Options, (Advanced Options), Browser.  Note that bookmarks can specify the browser to use, so changing this setting may not impact a bookmarked link.

Re: 302 redirect not working?

Hi Mark, thanks for the reply. Here are the exact details:

BlackBerry 8310
smartphone (EDGE)
v4.2.2.170 (Platform

It's on At&T in the USA.

There are two browser icons, one called "MEdia Net" and one called
"Browser". The MEdia Net icon has some sort of orange comet going
around the globe icon. Opening either one, however, brings up the same
exact browser. Going into either one, selecting Options -> Browser
Configuration -> Browser, and changing that value to "Internet
Browser", then doing Save Options DOES NOT change the option. If I
change that value, save, then go back into Browser Configuration, the
Browser has the old setting "MEdia Net".

The exact text of the redirect page is this:

The document was moved here.
Server at www.example.com Port 80

"here" is a link to the page we are trying to redirect to.

...upon further investigation it seems that the browser instance was
stuck in WAP mode, where MEdia Net is the only option. Closing the
browser application and reopening it put it back onto Internet
Browser. I'm really confused, but I guess if you open the MEdia Net
browser, you're stuck with that even if you go back to the home screen
and choose the full Internet Browser? Can someone verify this is the
