4.6.0 Bold Simulator/Browser Problem

Hello,

I am using the 4.6.0 Bold simulator with MDS services simulator version 4.1.4 and I can't seem to get the BB browser to connect to the internet but when I open the 8320 simulator version 4.2.2.161 it works no problem. One think I would also like to mention is my other sims always came in a installshield build and the 4.6.0 simulator was just a zip file.

Here is the error I am getting on the 4.6.0. Bold simulator

"Unable to connect to the selected Mobile Data Service. Please try again later. If this problem persists please contact your administrator."

Re: 4.6.0 Bold Simulator/Browser Problem

I went and downloaded the 4.6.0 JDE and it comes with MDS-CS and this seems to work with this simulator.

Re: 4.6.0 Bold Simulator/Browser Problem

That is correct.  You need to run the MDS Simulator (aka MDS-CS) in order to use the BlackBerry Browser in the BlackBerry Simulator.

[ Edited ]

I had started my MDS Service simulator v4.1.2 and then went to start my Bold simulator.  But I can't get the Bold simulator running to connect to the internet.  This is periodically working.

The other thing is that I also try to run the ESS but the same problem sometimes it can send or receive E-Mail but sometimes it stop.

I think I might be missing some kind of configuration here.

Please help!

Do you have a proxy server in your environment?  This could restrict your browsing to certain sites.  If so, please see this link.

Do you have any local firewall software on your PC?  If so, please verify that it is not blocking the communication between these tools.

Re: 4.6.0 Bold Simulator/Browser Problem

I have the same problem. I open the MDS-CS and Device Simulator come with JDE 4.6.0, it can access internet (there is no proxy). However, if I open MDS comes with JDE 4.3.0 and the Device Simmulator (from JDE 4.6.0), it works. Why? So Can I use the MDS-CS?

You can use either version of MDS Simulator with the BlackBerry Bold Simulator.
