8310/4.5 displaying embedded videos

I am attempting to play .3gp videos from a web site. I have used the tag as noted elsewhere but it does not launch the external player. The video plays on the 8310 because I loaded it directly and it worked great. I see from the HTML ref - http://docs.blackberry.com/en/developers/deliverables/6176/HTML_ref_object_564145_11.jsp - that Object was only completely supported with 4.6 and our phones have 4.5.

I know that uTube videos on their mobile site use the rftp// protocol rather than http// protocol. Is this the only way to get this to work?

The tag I am using is pretty minimalist

3gp not supported either

3gp not supported either

Am I missing something here?

thanks
