9800 Simulator Browser crashes, JVM Error 104

Hi Guys,

got a big Problem here :-(

Trying to run the built-in browser on the 9800 Simulator, but all that happens after clicking the icon is a messagecoming up stating:  "JVM Error 104 Uncaught: IllegalStateException".

So the Browser just wouldn't start.

My OS is: Windows Vista

Got the MDS Services 4.1.4 up and running.

No similar Problems with other Simulators.

Any Ideas how to fix this?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Cheers,

Volker

Re: 9800 Simulator Browser crashes, JVM Error 104

It is most likely a compatibility issue with Vista UAC permissions and Program Files directory virtualization.

Typically I've seen this happen is when the Torch simulator is installed in the Program Files directory.

If you uninstall it and re-install it into a root directory such as "C:\BlackBerry" it will not have problems.  The same goes for the MDS Services simulator.
