well splash is good thing to show a image at the start of an app or game liek you can show the company logo

you can give time interval after specifying source image path

I tried it but not working, 

<rim:splash src="file name"/>

After this I gave a time interval of 6 sec, but din work!!

Can you please explain what you mean by time interval? The splashscreen will display until the page loads and the rim:splash element does not support any child element or additonal parameters. Javascript in config.xml also does not execute:

Thanks a lot and btw By time interval I mean for how many seconds we can display the splash file before our app starts??

Ah, thank you for clarifying. Unfortunately the rim:splash element is shown while the web view is loading, but that time can differ depending on the device and there is no way to set a guaranteed time limit.

 

What you could do is show a stationary rim:splash, and then the first page that is displayed is an overlay / recreation of the splashscreen that you then let animate for a desired amount of time before removing / hiding it to show the actual application.

 

You will need to implement this within your actual HTML though and you could use something like a setTimeout call in your Javascript to execute after X milliseconds, the intent there would be to hide that overlay after X milliseconds.
