ApplicationMenuItemRepository equivalent on WebWorks

Hi,

in the JDE, I was able to use the ApplicationMenuItemRepository to add a menu item to an application.

However, I can't find similar thing on WebWorks.

I am wondering if anyone had tried it before?

Thanks.

Are you reffering to adding a custom Menu item to an existing RIM application such as email, contact, calendar?

Re: ApplicationMenuItemRepository equivalent on WebWorks

I think the Menu API is adding menu to your own app rather than the internal app.
Please correct me if I am wrong though. I may have missed a thing or two Smiley Happy.

Thanks

Re: ApplicationMenuItemRepository equivalent on WebWorks

We don't have a "canned" API to do this in WebWorks.. It is an item on the roadmap but hasn't found its way to the top of the stack.

Do you by any chance have a Java background?  If so you can expose that API up to your JavaScript.

Re: ApplicationMenuItemRepository equivalent on WebWorks

yep. I am converting my JDE based app to WebWorks.

I guess I have to use the JavaScript Extension to get that API to work with WebWorks.

Thanks for the info. I will give it a try.

Re: ApplicationMenuItemRepository equivalent on WebWorks

If you do get an extension up and running it would be great if you could contribute it back to the WebWorks-Community-APIs repository on github to share with the community Smiley Happy

Re: ApplicationMenuItemRepository equivalent on WebWorks

There is no javascript API for ApplicationMenuItemRepository.

you can do it by using a JavaScript Extension which uses Java to add the menu item to ApplicationMenuItemRepository.

I have tried this and it worked.
