BB10 HTML5 WebWorks Payment Service SDK (and Socket.IO support)

Now that the "Gold" SDKs are out, what do we do with expected features that were not released yet?

I like to create a HTML5 based app that can qualify for the 10K program, but it's impossible when HTML5 WebWorks SDK doesn't support Payment API yet. It looks like the feature is almost complete (https://github.com/blackberry/BB10-WebWorks-Framework/pull/455), but it is not part of the "Gold" SDK.

1. Can someone at least tell us whether we can expect to have the official Payment API by the end of the year or by Jan 21?

2. Or should we only use the Native / AIR SDK to create payment-enabled app before Jan 21?

3. For the 10K program, can I have my app certified by Jan 21 without payment, and then add payment after?

4. Would 10K program accept and certify apps built by the latest/custom dev build of WebWorks SDK that is not "Gold"?

How is the Socket.IO support now by the way? It sounds like WebSocket support isn't that great:

Re: BB10 HTML5 WebWorks Payment Service SDK (and Socket.IO support)

On the websocket topic, not all html5 api's available will appear in the WebWorks roadmap. Have you tried using the browser to test http://www.websocket.org/echo.html? An HTML5 api that works in the browser will simply work in WebWorks on BB10.

Payment API is still in development. I'm glad you found the branch but that also means your tracking the code review. There is nothing in the api that needs an OS update to work, which means the api can be bolted on at any time. AFAIK the BlackBerry World approval team don't filter for officially released api's since WebWorks is intended to be extended where necessary by developers. Feel free to grab the api, and play around with it, and just keep an eye out for the closing of the pull request. That is when it has been fully tested and of sufficient quality for release.

Same story here

Been talking to ScoreLoop today - they have a NDK SDK so it's possible (not easy, just possible) to write a custom extension
