Re: BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS Beta 3 now available

Have you tried re-installing the iso image in VMWare?

Re: BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS Beta 3 now available

same problem here, bar files built by previous version of bbwp work in new simulator but built by new bbwp simply do not work -- show load screen and then disppeared.

i may try to delete vmware image and re-create it since someone mentioned it, but question,

does that mean in real physical tablet, newer webworks apps won't work on older version of tablet OS?

Re: BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS Beta 3 now available

Hi sh2sg,

While the PlayBook is in beta, some of the signatures of the underlying APIs are changing, thus causing binary incompatibilties between beta releases.  This will not be the case after the official v1.0 becomes available.

Re: BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS Beta 3 now available

hi tneil,

understood, how about those apps that are already submitted to appworld? they are mostly built by webworks beta2, will they work for official 1.0 or we have to re-build them?

Re: BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS Beta 3 now available

You will want to ensure that you re-build your application with each Beta that becomes available.  This will be your way to ensure that your application will work on the launched devices.

Re-submitting your application will not reset your position in the review queue.  That original position will be retained based on your original submission date.

Re: BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS Beta 3 now available

tneil,

this brought out another question, how to re-submit a new version/build? i didnt find any link in appworld to cancel/delete old versions/releases. i did send email to appworld support and they help me remove those outdated versions but i think there should other ways? for example, i dunno appworld rules, maybe i can just submit newer release and it will overwrite old releases?

Hi sh2sg,

You'll likely have better luck getting the proper answer frpm our App World specialist on the dedicated forum for developers

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-App-World-Development/bd-p/appworld_dev

I'm not the best to ask in this case Smiley Happy

Re: BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS Beta 3 now available

Okay have an issue with the new SDK/sim pair as reported in

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Web-Development/Did-the-0-9-4-simulator-change-the-device-pix...

Same issue after uninstalled and reinstalled both the simulator VM and SDK beta 3.

The SDK appears on the windows side to still report the old version number

(how are you supposed to tell which SDK version?  was the version number not updated on the binaries).

I also found my apps built with an older SDK would hang or show invisible with sim 0.9.4, but after
rebuilding with the new SDK beta 3 they show up fine expect for the size/layout issue in the new sim.

Re: BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for Tablet OS Beta 3 now available

Looks like the github project was updated along with the SDK. Can we expect build or testing instructions soon?
