CSS style detection for devices with 4.2.2 and lower

Hi,

I'm trying to create a box that gives a note if a user does not have CSS enabled on their device:

e.g.

<div class="nocss">You don't have CSS enabled...</div>

I defined the class as follows

.nocss {visibility:hidden;display:none}

Checking on a 8830/4.2.2 device, I won't see the text (hidden), but the page shows the div, kind of as a place holder, with nothing in it. I tried to set the height:0 but also that did not work. Any ideas?

Works fine with e.g. 4.7...

Thanks

bbinto

Re: CSS style detection for devices with 4.2.2 and lower

Hi bbinto,

The behaviour you have found is a limitation in version 4.2.2 of the BlackBerry Device Software.  This issue was corrected in version 4.5 which is an eligible maintenance upgrade for the 8830 device you are testing on.

Sincerely,

Adam
