Data network check in BBOS 7.1 and older versions

Hi All,

I'm facing issue in creating a BBOS web works application.

I'm unable to check data coverage in BBOS, and one more thing I'm unable to run my application on simulator,

I tried all whitelist my service hosting domain in config file and did all proper configuration, still i'm unable to run my app.

I've already tried two thing below.

1. var network = blackberry.network;

2.
if (!blackberry.system.hasDataCoverage()) {
 alert("You are not in coverage, we will attempt to send later");
}

but both not working for me.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Data network check in BBOS 7.1 and older versions

Please clarify what you mean by 'not working'.

  • Is your app failing to launch?
  • Are you seeing incorrect values being returned by those code snippets?
  • Are there runtime errors?

Thanks for reply

I'm getting error

".hasDataCoverage()" is not a valid method.

and first one always return "3gpp".

Basically i just want to check whether device is in data coverage or not.

Re: Data network check in BBOS 7.1 and older versions

Hi there, would this extension help with the issue?
https://github.com/blackberry/WebWorks-Community-APIs/tree/master/Smartphone/TransportCoverage

When running on the simulator, be sure to use the "Debug" BAR, not the "Device" BAR, as these have different architectures.
