I am using the onClick event which is not firing. I am testing it on simulator v4.5. How do I make the HTML buttons clickable without using onClick event ?

Also, how are you defining your HTML button, as a <button> element or <input type='button' ...> ? When combining the onClick event with an HTML button, its best to define the button as <input type="button" id="myButton" onclick="yourFunction()"/> as this does not cause the active form to be submitted.

Can you tell me if this has something to do with version of blackberry device software?

4.5 does not provide any dynamic HTML functionality. So you are not able to change visibility of elements using the 4.5 browser.

Agreed to what you say Tim, even I found it documented on Blackberry documentation at this link.
But in that case I have a question:
How come I am able to hide a div i.e. when I initialize the div and set its property to hidden it actually hides itself.
I am using this code:
<div id="popup" style="position:absolute; left:5px; top:75px; width:227px; height:203px; z-index:22; visibility: hidden;"> Hello this text is hidden first! </div>
I am just trying to show (make visible) this div using scripting which is not allowed in v4.5 though its supports changing its visiblility in above manner....

I know... the question you have is likely "But why would you let me set the visibility to hidden if I couldn't set it back to visible again somehow?"
But I believe it just works that way and I can't give you solid reasoning on why it is the way it is
