How to develop a PHP server-side based for push widget.



I would like to know if it possible to develop a server-side in PHP for a public push service ?

To be more precise, is it possible to develop a push widget using a PHP public web server (So without using a MDS server.)


I am not familiar with the MDS servers, please excuse me if my question seems obvious Smiley Happy .

Generally speaking, performing a push is a series of HTTP GET/POST calls against a publicly defined interface.
