I broke my widget - now getting 404 error?

[ Edited ]

Where do I even begin?

I had a widget that worked fine in the simulator.  I then built and signed it and deployed it onto my device (BB 8900 OS 5).  The widget on the device works, but now the simulator is broken??  I have not made any changes to my code...it makes no sense.  Do I need to do something differently after I've signed a widget?

My response now is:

<html><head><title>Document Error: Site or Page Not Found</title></head>
<body><h2>Access Error: Site or Page Not Found</h2>
<p>Cannot open URL</p></body></html>

HOWEVER, I can access the url in the simulator browser and yes, I have it white-listed in my widget config.xml file.

Any ideas?  I am at a loss, and I've searched the forums but to no avail...

Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S.  I should mention that I'm using the Eclipse development plug-in.

Re: I broke my widget - now getting 404 error?

Hi there,

What is the URL of the HTML page you are trying to open in your widget?

Does it redirect to a different domain when it is loaded?  If so you will need to whitelist any secondary domains as well?  For example, opening http://www.google.com in a browser may redirect you to http://www.google.ca depending on your locale.

Best wishes,

Adam
