Re: In Blackberry how to implement Touch swipe

At present the only way I find to do such things is programmatically by hooking the four touch events and passing them to my own handler

I wrote such a handler for one of my apps but used it as a drag function

Rolling your own is not a simple task

An alternative that potentially works out of the box is Sencha Touch but that has a bit of a steep learning curve

Re: In Blackberry how to implement Touch swipe

My code simply understands the differerence at a mouse level

This is perfect for the intended job

I have been considering writing a library so that you can plug it directly in to your code

Such an undertaking is by no maeans something I can write in ten minutes

Should I embark on such a project I will do do at the urging of the community

I will be more than pleased to help you out over the swipe - just PM me and I'll see what I can do

Please bear in mind that I also want to release PB and fone apps so my time will be needed to be split between such tasks

Check jmace blog above and if you find a way to do it without disabling scrolling in divs and such(disabling ontouchmove) please share.

Re: In Blackberry how to implement Touch swipe

Jason's sample is a great solution to a very popular question: how do I do swipe gestures on BlackBerry.  There are certainly existing solutions such as jQuery and  and Moosture, often developers are looking for a trimmed down solution that is easy to implement.

Jason - any interest in collaborating on a working sample that can be published in the BlackBerry developer's Knowledge Base?

Cheers,

Adam

Re: In Blackberry how to implement Touch swipe

Thanks, Jason and Adam.

This is very useful information. Is there any progress of adding this to the knowledge base? Since a playbook supports multiple points of contact, it would be interesting to see such an example, too.
