Is it possible to open the Google Maps application or the Blackberry Maps application from a URL in the Blackberry browser? I'd like to use the application installed on the Blackberry instead of using the Google Maps web page.
I know that the iPhone has the "maps:" protocol that directly opens the Google Maps application instead of the Google Maps web page ("http:"). ex: maps:q=New York City
Does something similar exist on the Blackberry?
Based on my researches, the only thing I managed to do was to open a KML file from the Blackberry browser... and this open the Blackberry Maps application automaticaly (but it doesn't open Google Maps application when I remove the Blackberry Maps application). But I'd like to avoid creating a KML file as I don't really need one (I just want to display a "pin" at a given lat/lng)... and it doesn't seem to work well on iPhone.
Anyone can help?
Edit: I'm testing on the Storm 9530 with the Blackberry Browser.

No, I didn't. I've tried to find an equivalent of "maps:" for the Blackberry, without any success so far.
It's possible to call a .KML file using the Blackberry browser and this will open directly Blackberry Maps (but not Google Maps).
Here are some dicussions about this :
However, this (.KML) won't work on an iPhone... and this is not exactly what I was looking for.

Launch BB Maps, pick a location, then choose "Send Location" from the menu, choose email.
This will compose an email with a URL that can be opened by either BB maps or a regular web browser.
