Could you email me (email@example.com) a "Hello World" config.xml and index.html for reproducing this issue? Basically the simplest form of code that produces this. I'm happy to do some investigation on this side but having the same starting point as your code would be ideal.
I've been discussing with colleagues and it seems that this should be working. We may end up needing to log a bug report depending on how the investigation goes.

Based on what you have described the problem is that a remote domain (likely dropbox) is attempting to access a local resource and the path has not been whitelisted. I saw that you have https://dropbox.com whitelisted, but its likely a different domain is attempting the redirect.
Could you cc me as well on the email to @oros, it does not have to be reduced if this is too time consuming, I just need an example of the failure.

Hi all, just to follow-up on this one.
An issue was opened with our WebKit team internally on this as the proposed workaround should address the issue. Specifically, a request for the redirect *appears* to be coming from:
Meaning that a white-list of https://dropbox.com should provide the necessary permission for the redirect to occur. However, from our testing, this is not the case. This means that there is either an issue with the white-listing taking the intended effect, the redirect is not occurring from the displayed origin, or there is something else at play.
As noted, our development team is exploring this but I am currently out of the office and do not have access to see what's been narrowed down yet. Based on what we're seeing though, initial signs are pointing at a platform-level issue.

Any updates guys?
I just checked a few of my apps and they are all dead due to this issue.
Redirecting from a remote url to local:/// is not working with window.location = url or any other way.
If this doesn't get solved soon, I have half a dozen apps going down
