Offline queues not supported in OS6 - Why?

I had planned on using offline queuing, but found out that it is no longer supported in OS6.  Does anyone know if offline queues will be supported again?

Re: Offline queues not supported in OS6 - Why?

Hi

No this functionlity will not be supported again, from what I have heard.

The browser moved to Webkit and Blackberry brought in a company to create the new browser, so the old one went out the window.

You could attempt to write your own offline queue system using HTML5 and webworks.

Cheers

I forgot to mention that we are creating our own offline queue using HTML5, but we found out our client apparently has some (or a lot?) of OS 5.0 devices that do not have SD Cards.

why not user the Blackberry offline queue functionality for BB5 devices?

Only use the offline queue you developed for webkit devices?

Thanks - I considered that and thought I would have to go in that direction, but I told our client that it would be more work to support his non SD-Card OS 5 devices and he opted for SQLite that works with OS6 and OS 5 devices with SD Cards.
