I have a question/clarification about Blackberry's ability to display PDFs. My understanding is as follows:
A PDF attached to an email can be previewed
A PDF in a webpage can only be downloaded (but it can be viewed if you have a 3rd party renderer)
Is this about correct? Are there any known hacks to get a linked-to PDF to display in the browser without requiring 3rd party software? I've heard some things about iframes enclosing a PDF working somehow?
Any help and clarification would be awesome.
I'm currently testing on a 5.1 9700 on T-Mobile.
Options that I'd rather not pursue: sending the PDF directly via email attachment, and rendering the PDF as images on the web page.

If you are using a BES, then the blackberry will render a pdf file WITHOUT 3rd party software (The newer the version the better the rendering).
I think as you have said, if you are writing the page for BIS use, then 3rd party software is required.
