PlayBook mailto:<recipient> fails

[Untested]

A member of our little developer community has been trying to get mailto: links in WebWorks working for over a week

I'm informed that if you turn the wifi off it works (seems stupid to me that you'll need to connect via a device)

I've seen several Qs on this subject so thought I'd let everyone know what we found

Re: PlayBook mailto:<recipient> fails

Have you been able to reproduce this issue?  I just tested the "mailto" link from the following demo page (compiled into a WebWorks app) from the Smartphone and it launched a new email

http://blackberry.github.com/WebWorks-Samples/kitchenSink/html/browser/schemes.html

Note this works as expected from the browser on PlayBook 2.0, but appears to be a bug from within WebWorks (does not launch the mail client). I just filed this bug here:

Your app doesn't work? Use BlackBerry remote web inspector to find out why.

Re: PlayBook mailto:<recipient> fails

Yep, completely reproducable

I'm using 2.0.0.7971 upgraded from the Amsterdam beta while my colleague (the author) has a last year version upgraded to the same

I wrote the simplest HTML page possible - it just had a mailto link with my own email addy in it

Don't work!

I checked the current config.xml docs in case I'd missed something - nope

Got signed BAR and source (hardly worth providing - it's a mailto link)

I used your own AIR compilation tool
