Playbook blackberry-deploy Author does not match error

I am trying to use the blackberry-deploy command to install my app on my Playbook.  But, I am getting the following error:

result::failure 881 application author does not match debug token author

I have checked to make sure that my Debug Token Author matches the author in my config.xml file, but still the error occurs.

Why would I keep getting this error?

Re: Playbook blackberry-deploy Author does not match error

Did you compile your WebWorks application with the -d "Remote Web Inspector" option enabled?

This feature includes the necessary author info into your generated BAR file.

I ended up just building and signing in Ripple and it worked.

Okay, that's great to hear.  Did you bychance enable the "Remote Web Inspector" feature?

Ok, I take that comment back.  It worked for a while, but now getting the error again.  Why woud lit say that author doesn't match when it does?

Ho do I set the remote web inspector feature?

Click on the "Settings ..." button in the Build panel.  There should be a checkbox there.  When you enable this feature, the WebWorks SDK adds the relevant debug token info into your application when you perform the "Package" action.

Re: Playbook blackberry-deploy Author does not match error

Ok, I did that, but I am still getting the result::failure 881 application author does not match debug token author error.

Do I need to specify the path to my debug file somewhere? Strange that this worked before, but I guess I was using Package and Sign, but now that gives me an error about being signed before...

On boy, all I want to do is just test this on my plabook.... Smiley Happy

Re: Playbook blackberry-deploy Author does not match error

https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/documentation/runnning_unsigned_apps_using_a_debug_token_1866...

This documentation explains that your debug token must:

  • be named debugtoken.bar
  • be located in a specific folder (see "Set the debug token section") or if you are using the BB10 SDK, the root of your SDK installation folder

Yes you need to increment the build # each time you sign an app.  If you don't, you will get that error.
