Push message - Switch off

Hi,
 
Every morning, we send 40 push messages by blackberry between 08:00am and 09:00am. It's our morning news.
When the application receives a push message, it saves it in the database.
 
Problem: if a user switch his blackberry on at 09:30am. The blackberry server will send the 40 push messages in 2-3 secondes. It's too much data for a blackberry especially if the device is running on OS5. (too slow). Sometimes, the device reboots.
 
Did you have this problem ?
How can we say to the blackberry server : "Please, wait 3 secondes between each push message to the same user"
 
Any idea ?

Is this with a BES push, or with the public BIS push service?

It's the same problem with BIS push message.

Today, I tryed again with a device 8520 and OS 5.0.

 

I switched off the device then I sent 50 push messages via BES. Then I switched on the device, I received the push messsages... After 7 or 8 messages, the device rebooted.

 

It does the same if I use BIS instead of BES.

 

If I use a Blackberry Torch, I think it's fine because the device is more powerful.

 

When my application receives a message, I just save it in the database :

How can I manage this problem ?

Is the problem related to the DB insert or the push message?.

 

i.e. if you do not insert to the db does it still reboot?

I'm thinking the issue may be around the DB inserts as well.  We just had the test team run through the scenario and they sent 50 messages to each of the following 

- 6.0: Torch, Bold, Curve

- 5.0 Storm

 

And they all arrived without an issue.  i think it may be a DB transaction issue.

We're going to add DB to the mix as well to see what we can find in parallel
