Regarding the Calender App

Hi

There

I want to integrate a google calender with my bbwidget. I can display the whole calender events using php on a web page and then displaying that web page in bbwidget. But in case if i want to access those calender events by invoking inbuilt calender application I need to use the script

<script type="text/javascript">
  function callcalender(){
  var appt = new blackberry.pim.Appointment();
  appt.summary = 'Get Together For lunch';

  var args = new blackberry.invoke.CalendarArguments(appt);
  args.view = 0;

  blackberry.invoke.invoke(blackberry.invoke.APP_CALENDAR, args);  // Calendar
  }
</script>

 but this script is n't working on BB 9550 Simulator. Moreover how can I integrate google calender with it?

Re: Regarding the Calender App

Hi There,

I am trying to understand and be clear about your desired result... Are you:

1) Wanting to create a new Calendar appointment and add it to the BlackBerry Calendar directly?

2) Are you wanting to create a new "unsaved" calendar appointment, open it in the Appointment Add screen and have the user save the appointment to the BlackBerry Calendar

3) A different option?

The code you have listed as an example would be to accomplish option (2).  Could you also explain what is meant by "isn't working".  Is it throwing an exception? not showing you the desired result of (2) etc.

For the code to work in your example can you confirm that you have the following in your config.xml file:

<feature id="blackberry.invoke" version="1.0.0"/>
<feature id="blackberry.invoke.CalendarArguments" version="1.0.0"/>
<feature id="blackberry.pim.Appointment" version="1.0.0"/>

Re: Regarding the Calender App

Scenario explanation

My BBwidget application will read list of events from google calender.

Those events can be added to Blackberry calenders.

These events in Blackberry calendars should remain in sync  with Google calender.

On a later date i want to provide an edit options for events in the widget .

Is it possible or the scenario needs to be change under the functional constrainsts.

Re: Regarding the Calender App

You can directly add/edit/delete Calendar appointments directly from JavaScript in your widget.  This can all be done using the Appointment object.

Re: Regarding the Calender App

Hi

There

After researching Google Calender API I 've got a solution to this problem

I can create a web front end using bbwidget/php and Google Calendar as a back end. In this the google calender event can be add/deleted or notifications / reminders can be sent to the associated peoples.

Your Insight is requested and appreciated.
