Rss feeds

Hi guys,

I am using RSS FEEDS as a functionality in my app. Depending upon what input has been entered, app fetchs the relative Rss feeds (say world news, sports e.t.c).

But i want the output should look like BB's "Social Feeds" widget.

So guys if have any idea to put the fetched ugly Rss content into a good looking frames(as mentioned Default bb rss feed) , Pls share....

Any code snippet would highly be appreciated...

thanx,

Re: Rss feeds

As far as formatting the XML, that's up to you. I'm sure there are plenty of libraries out there, but I haven't used or tested them. http://www.google.ca/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=RSS+javascript+library yields a lot of results. You'll have to test them with your app to make sure they are compatable with BB JS engine.

In terms of getting a native-looking UI, use this https://github.com/tneil/bbUI.js from tneil.

Re: Rss feeds

hi shnuffy,

Thanks for this.

Is it possible to use XMLHttpRequest(xml DOM Object) to retrive any RSS file(.xml) of any external domain, say :http://www.skynews.com.au/rss/feeds/skynews_topstories.xml and hence by using my own( css style sheets)styling stuff get those feeds styled.

Thanx,
