Shutting down Playbook Simulator VM

This may sound like a stupid question but despite lots of searching around within the Playbook Simulator and on Google, I haven't been able to find out if/how you are supposed to cleanly shut down the VM in VMWare. Are you just supposed to suspend it when done with it, or can I just force a shutdown of the VM. I never like doing that with VMs in case it leaves them in a messed up state.

Thanks for any advice

Re: Shutting down Playbook Simulator VM

I often use Suspend simply to make it faster to get back up and running.

I use Reset at will, without the slightest thought of leaving the thing in a bad state... I have confidence in QNX.

I also use Power Down when I feel like it, again without any concerns.

Note that none of these, I suspect, approximates how the real tablet will operate when you either suspend or power down.  I wouldn't be surprised if the integration between VMware and QNX is limited in this area, and from the OS point of view, whether you reset or power down, I expect it just sees it the same as the real device would see an abrupt battery removal (if that were even possible).

Re: Shutting down Playbook Simulator VM

Thanks Peter. I suspected as much. I'm sure like you say the real device will behave differently but I want to be able to shut the VM down from time to time to back it up, copy it etc.
