Just a quick question. Is there any way to start/invoke a third party java app on a blackberry 7 from a WebWorks app?
I've been researching and it seems that it's impossible. I have successfully done the reverse and opened a WebWorks app from a java app but am hoping this is also possible.
Thanks all for your time.

I am talking about invoking/starting a third party app that a colleague has created, not Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. I know that they can be invoked by certain calls.

Unfortunately BBOS did not have an invocation framework as flexible as BlackBerry 10 and what was available on the Java side was not inherently available in WebWorks.
You can use the ApplicationManager:
To launch an application if you know information about the module itself.
However, if you want access to these in WebWorks, you would need to create a custom extension to call the native (Java) APIs.

Thank you so much for the advice. It definitely was the solution I was looking for!
Sorry about taking some time to reply and say thanks, I was busy with another project.
