Web App textfield bug

I am testing a web application on the BlackBerry curve simulator.  Within a textfield the DateTimePicker is displaying. in a format that we don't want to use.  Is there an input tag attribute I can use to turn off the appearance of the DateTimePicker in this html input tag.

Re: Web App textfield bug

Hello jcoggins,

from my experience the DateTime input is a bit limited as far as formatting.

I have noticed that if you insert a preformatted answer in a time input  (say  03:23) , the DateTime picker that displays when a user goes to edit it will retain that format ( what I mean is... it will not also have seconds like the default date time picker).

I'm working on some techniques to really customize the date/time input experience a little better for some of my own projects, but until then it seems we have what we have.

Thanks for the input.

We discovered that the input tag which is created by a widget had a type="date".  Using the FireBug tool from FireFox we found the bug.  By changing the type attribute to type="text", we removed the spinner from the textfield.

type="date" should have enable HTML 5 datepicker for the field, but no....

Now the DOB textfield has functionality.   You can type in the (DOB)date in the correct format and the search feature finds the name.

The javascript and jquery code doesn't seem to apply to the field for autoformatting the input date.  Strange, since the javascript is enabled on the BlackBerry 9500 simulator we are using.
