how to add community plugins like prevent sleep?

btw: i dont like the new way of adding the webworks plugins to the app... add it to the config.xml was WAY faster/easier than add it via command line one for one...

no prompts for password or click to get token.. will try when it's out of beta.

That isn't the correct URL to get a BlackBerry ID Token for siging.  I'll have that fixed.  The correct URL is:  https://developer.blackberry.com/codesigning

Re: WebWorks 2.0 Beta is Now Available

Thank you Mark.

good news

i will have to setup a new machine for webworks 2.

My present webworks environment ("1.0.4.11")is not capable of running a simulator( 'REAL SLUG', 'takes forever' )

works great with ripple/Dos

Q:what happens in App World for example if a developer builds new Coidova releases of apps and abandons the previous SDK versions? is that a possible scenario? are existing customers pointed to the new cordova version?

Re: WebWorks 2.0 Beta is Now Available

As long as you sign the application with the same code signing key and/or BlackBerry ID Token from the same BlackBerry ID account as the original application and use the same package name as the original application, users will be able to upgrade.

If either of these change the user is still informed of the upgrade but application gets installed alongside the original, so they'll have 2 copies installed.  This applies to any type of BlackBerry app, not just WebWorks.

jplust - those community extensions will need to be converted to plugins first, so you might want to hold off on upgrading if you need them in your project

We're planning a plugin management screen in the GUI for the Gold release to make the process easier.

Re: WebWorks 2.0 Beta is Now Available

yogi2wise - Thanks for the report. I'd like to get to the bottom of this.

When you launched the app, there should have been a console window opened as well. Are there any error messages?

If you know how to open your browser developer tools, there might be some clues there as well.

Re: WebWorks 2.0 Beta is Now Available

@jplust

The Prevent Sleep plugin was ported a while ago since it's the most widely used Community plugin. You can get it here: https://github.com/blackberry/WebWorks-Community-APIs/tree/master/BB10-Cordova/PreventSleep

Installation is with the "webworks plugin add <plugin location>" command, once you've got it downloaded locally. Apparently there's a way for us to register these plugins with cordova and then they install from anywhere. That's pretty cool, so I'm going to check it out and see if I can get our community contributed ones listed.

Any problems you have with the plugin you can post in an issue on the GitHub repository, or ask here in the forums.

thanks tim! Smiley Happy

idea: it would be nice to "import" existing projects to the GUI

another thing: i cant "run" apps placed on another partition... the CLI looks for the ".cordova" folder at the same partition as the app (wrong)
