WebWorks Application for BB10 and BB OS 6 and above

Hi All,


I am trying to develop an a simple app(including filling up an form kind of thing and submitting it to server).

Will it be possible to keep same code base for Both BB series(BB10 as well lower version device).


Please help.

That's dependent on the APIs you are using. If you are sticking to pure HTML5, the majority of the code should be re-usable. If you are using WebWorks APIs, you may need to be more careful and reference here which OS versions support which APIs:

Also, please note that you will need to package with the appropriate SDK based on the OS you are targeting (legacy BBOS, PlayBook, or BlackBerry 10.)

As long as the App is HTML ONLY then yep


Something we regularly do is write for BB10 (used to be Playbook) then re-deploy accross iOS and Android


Sometimes there are issues but if you're not after anything 'clever' a basic web-app will work on everything with minimal or zero changes


Start with your lowest supported platform then work up from that but TEST, TEST and TEST again on everything
