I've created a small web app using asp.net with a Default.aspx page, deploy to IIS 7 on Window 7 machine, the app runs fine in IE with URL: http://machineName/AppName/Default.aspx .
Then, I created a Widget app using Blackberry VS 2008 plugin 2.0, in the Widget Configuration section, under Entry point for this widget, I select Remote, then I put in the URL above in the text box.
Entry point for this widget --> Remote : http://machineName/AppName/Default.aspx
Under Widget Permission section I added Domain as http://machineName/AppName
Widget Permissions --> Add Domain : http://machineName/AppName
I then build and run the Widget app against the simulator, I got an error:
Could not select proper Transport Descriptor for: http://machineName/AppName/Default.aspx
What do I do wrong here? Or is it possible to do this? Or is there any other way to create a widget app that point to a remote .net web application?
Thank you for your help.

Depending on your PC network settings and the way your internal DNS server works you can sometimes have issues with the MDS simulator resolving the domain name unless it is fully qualified.
For instance my PC's name is tneil-xp-2, but it's fully qualified domain name is tneil-xp-2.rim.net
I would try using the fully qualified domain name for your website. If that does not work also try using the IP address for the site just to confirm that it is in fact a DNS lookup issue. The MDS simulator acts as a Proxy for the device simulator for network connectivity.

Thanks for your response.
I added the ip address instead of the machine name and it works fine. I actually got this information from Adam.
You guys are awesome.
