I'm curious, how do you manually add to the bar file? I haven't looked into it much, is it just a renamed zip?

In fact it is a zip file, yes.

Funnily the PlayBook emulator isn't even that kind of diva as bbwp - in terms of accepted compressed files.


I directly opened my .bar with "File Roller" (w/o renaming it to .zip first) and put the missing folder into the /air/ subdirectory.

Was there any side effect of adding the extra files to the .bar file without adding them to the META-INF\MANIFEST.MF?  The manifest contains the SHA-512 digests, so I would have thought some sort of vaildation might happen.  I haven't seen anything on the simulator, but I haven't tried to sign it or know what the real device might do differently?
