Hello - impressed with this board

Hello everyone.  This board sort of introduced itself to me first.  Only hours after buying my new Storm 9530, I found myself here (and other places) looking for answers to some questions.  I searched in vain for answers (probably due to my choice of search terms), registered here, and decided to post my question.  Did that.  Went to do other things online.  After about 3 minutes, my Blackberry starts vibrating/chirping at me -- I've got a new message (I had asked to notified of any replies by e-mail).  I saw the message that I had a reply already.  Logged back in, and actually had two replies!  I hesitated before clicking, hoping they weren't RTFM replies.  Indeed, they both answered the original question, and pointed me to other resources that have helped me since then.  I am coming to Blackberry after years of happily using a Palm in various incarnations (never one of the phones -- my last Palm was my LifeDrive, which I still have, but the screen is cracked) and I wanted to seek out a phone with PDA functionality if possible.  My last phone was the LG Dare (touchscreen) which I loved also.  However, I am fascinated and delighted with the open-ness of this Storm -- I can customize and download apps to my heart's content!  Now I just have to learn what I've done.  Anyway, happy to be here.

Hi allanmills and welcome to the forums!

I did read your response in that thread when Messrs. Sgardne and Kentovannatten helped so quickly.

I would have been there as well, but I was in the basement. Smiley Wink

Hi and welcome to the forums! Smiley Happy

Very happy you have found us....again.!  This place can have that effect on you; it sneaks up on you. Smiley Very Happy  I see you have found one of the best resources around here - the search box.  Can be very helpful.  I only say 'can' because it constantly steers me down paths I never was originally looking for.  I must admit to sometimes having to back up a number of browser pages to remember what I had originally searched for!  Oops.  That may be a personal problem not intended for this forum! Smiley Wink

Now, where was I.  Oh yes.  I was a Palm devotee for a long time.  Love my Curve now.  Once I caught on to the different ways of doing things between the Palm and BB, I find the BB to be much more intuitive. Still learning.  And trying to remember.  Read alot around here.  Just make sure you have this place bookmarked and keep coming back.  Smiley Very Happy
