This article applies to the following:

  • BlackBerry® devices based on Java™
  • BlackBerry Mobile Data System™ (BlackBerry MDS™) 4.1 and later

BlackBerry MDS 4.1 now allows a RIM Push to be submitted and delivered after a specified date or time. RIM Push submissions can specify an X-RIM-Push-Deliver-After header to indicate that the message is to be delivered at a specific time in the future. The header value is a date in RFC 822 (updated by RFC 1123) format.

The following example uses this header:

X-RIM-Push-Deliver-After: Tue, 22 Aug 2006 15:45:00 GMT

Note: Using the deliver-after timestamp task always requires that BlackBerry MDS is configured to store Push Application Protocol (PAP) messages in a database.
