To add other languages to a specific device simulator, the XML file for that simulator needs to be modified to include an import statement for the language library.

Example - Adding French Support to a BlackBerry 7290 Wireless Handheld™

  1. Open the 7290.xml file.
  2. In between the SimulatorConfiguration tags add the following: <Application>net.rim.blackberry.lang.fr</Application>
  3. Save the file.
  4. Run the simulator.
  5. When the device simulator completes the boot cycle, go to Options > Languages.
  6. Change the language to French and save the changes.
