The BlackBerry Web Development Plug-in for Eclipse & Visual Studio have received their end-of-life announcement. Developers are encouraged to use the BlackBerry Ripple emulator, and the BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for testing and previewing their Web content.
After installing the BlackBerry® WebWorks™ Plug-in for Microsoft® Visual® Studio®, the first time you save a BlackBerry WebWorks project you may receive the following error message: "The operation cannot be completed. No such interface supported".
A known issue exists with custom project types added to Microsoft® Visual Studio® for 2008. The BlackBerry WebWorks Plug-in installer cannot modify the global options required to allow these project types to be successfully saved.
The user must enable this option manually.
- Select the Options menu item from the Tools menu
- Expand the Projects and Solutions twistie
- Select the General option
- Make sure that the "Save new projects when created" check box is enabled
- Click on the OK button to save your changes
Once this change has been made to Visual Studio, newly created BlackBerry WebWorks projects will automatically be saved when created, and you will no longer receive the above error message.
